HEB1012 Community Engagement Project (CEP) is a compulsory course offered to all UTP students as part of MPU (Mata Pelajaran Umum / General Studies) National requirement prescribed by the Ministry of Education Malaysia. This course is a project-based activity, categorized under MPU4, to complement MPU1, MPU2 and MPU3 courses that are based on knowledge, skills, morals, value, patriotism and towering personality. The course is 2 credit hours and it is designed to ensure that students will acquire some of those basic elements to be applied in CEP as to support students’ development. The social and value emphasis on this community-based project is in line with UTP mission to produce well-rounded graduates with a broad-minded, balanced and holistic views.

In this course, students are required to form a group of five (5) to twenty (20) students (preferably from different ethnic and nationality) to plan and execute any Community Engagement Project with the approval from the Chair of Management and Humanities Department. The list of projects shall be provided or the students may propose their own project that meet the required criteria of MPU4 project.
