Dear Respected Students,

Well-rounded students are students that are knowledgeable and competent, who possess high moral standards, and who are respon-sible and capable of achieving high level of personal well-being as well as being able to contribute to the betterment and harmony of the family, the society and the nation.

Thus, one of the functions of Rules and Regulations is to establish a set of high moral standards. High number of misconduct cases committed by UTP students indicates low moral standards in UTP students.

We are sad to inform you that there were many misconduct cases committed by UTP students in year 2016, as follows:

Following the above misconduct cases—

  1. four (4) UTP students were arrested and detained by the Police and Immigration Department of Malaysia for drugs abuse and trafficking, fighting using dangerous weapon in the campus, and overstay in Malaysia.
  2. students who were found guilty of misconducts committed were imposed with the following punishments:

(i) Stern Warning; and/or

(ii) A fine of RM1,000.00; and/or

(iii)Academic Suspension; or

(iv) Expulsion from the University.

As such, this bulletin is distributed to you as a reminder to practice good values, to strictly adhere to UTP Rules and Regulations, and to inculcate high moral standards within yourselves.

Thank you.
